The Simple Present Tense - Basit Şimdiki Zaman ( Geniş Zaman )

Geniş zaman bir işin her zaman yapılabileceğini gösteren zamandır.

İngilizce'de geniş zamanı yapmak için "TO BE" ve "TO HAVE" fiilleri hariç "INFINITIVE" in "TO" su kaldırılır ve şahıs zamirleri veya isimlerden sonra kullanılır.

Yalnız üçüncü tekil şahıslarda fiilin sonuna "S" veya lüzumuna göre "ES", "IES" getirilir.

1) "O" harfi ile nihayetlenen fiiller üçüncü tekil şahıslarda "ES" alırlar.

Go Goes
Do Does

2) "SH", "CH", "X", "Z" harfleri ile nihayetlenen fiiller üçüncü tekil şahıslarda "ES" alırlar.

Örn:
Teach Teaches
Wish Wishes
Kiss Kisses

3) "Y" harfi ile biten fiillerde "Y" den evvel bir sessiz harf varsa "IES", sesli harf varsa "S" alırlar.

Örn:
Pay Pays
Buy Buys

4) Sonları "GE", "CE", "SE" ile nihayetlenen fiiller, üçüncü tekil şahıslarda "S" alırlar.

Not: Geniş zamanın SORU, OLUMSUZ ve OLUMSUZ SORU şekilleri "DO" fiili yardımıyla yapılır.

Interrogative - Soru:
Do I come? : Gelir miyim?
Do you come? : Gelir misin?
Does, he, she, it come? : Gelir mi?
Do we come? : Gelir miyiz?
Do you come? : Gelir misiniz?
Do they come? : Gelirler mi ?

Negative - Olumsuz:
I do not (don't) come : Gelmem
You do not come : Gelmezsin
He, she, it does not (doesn't) come : Gelmez
We do not come : Gelmeyiz
You do not come : Gelmezsiniz
They do not come : Gelmezler

Interrogative Negative - Olumsuz Soru:
Do I not come veya Don't I come? : Gelmez miyim?
Do you not come veya Don't you come? : Gelmez misin?
Does he, she, it not come veya Doesn't he, she, it come? : Gelmez mi ?
Do we not come veya Don't we come? : Gelmez miyiz?
Do you not come veya Don't you come? : Gelmez misiniz?
